Rates
The NAPG program offers competitive, stable rates, and discounts to new acupuncturists.
If you are entering private practice for the first time, you are eligible for two years of
new-to-practice discounts – 50% during the first year of coverage and 25% in the second year.
Claims-made rates follow a “stair-step pattern for the first three years,
until a “mature” level is reached. Thereafter, rates will rise or fall
based on MIEC’s acupuncture claims experience. But there will never be an
assessment or retroactive increase. Here’s how claims-made step rates
progress in the first three years:

Premiums may be paid annually or quarterly. MIEC policies have a common anniversary date of February 1. New policies effective after that date will
have prorated premiums in the first year.
New acupuncturists: There is a 50% discount if you are in your first year of
private practice, and 25% in your second year.
